She spent a tremendous part of her life supporting the community and selflessly giving to others. We feel it is our turn, as her family, to give back in her memory,” said Steve Maple. Judy Maple was the wife of Dave Maple,Sr. Her children include Steve, Cindy, Kevin, Dave, Jr., Criss and Jennifer Maple Bash. The funds presented to Valley Hospice are earmarked for the prep kitchen in the state-of-the art building that is being constructed on land donated by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph at Mount St. Joseph near Oglebay Park. Completion is expected in late 2008. “Valley Hospice is honored that the family of Judy Maple has dedicated this year’s golf outing proceeds to our new hospice house. Their generosity will help us realize a hospice house for patients in the Wheeling area and for that we are extremely grateful,” commented VH CEO Karen Nichols. The event also will provide a scholarship to a senior student from Edison Local High School who exemplifies the qualities the qualities Judy always felt to be important, including being a positive role model by demonstrating sportsmanship and serving the community.
