Valley Hospice affirms the fundamental belief that every person deserves not only a decent life, but also a peaceful death in an atmosphere of respect, compassion, and dignity. Valley Hospice provides comfort to both those afflicted with and those affected by terminal illness

Established in 1985, Valley Hospice, Inc. is the foremost non-profit, locally-based hospice in the Upper Ohio Valley.  We always provide care to any patient in need of our services, regardless of their ability to pay.  We are a Medicare certified and CHAP accredited hospice.

In Ohio we serve the residents of Belmont, Jefferson, Harrison, and southern Columbiana Counties.

In West Virginia, we serve the residents of Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, and Ohio Counties.

Hospice care focuses on pain and symptom control as well as the psycho-social and emotional effects of life-limiting illnesses on individuals and those who care for them.

• Hospice patients are eligible to receive the following benefits:
• Visits by specially trained, professional staff including physicians, RNs, LPNs, hospice aides, social workers, & chaplains
• Pain and symptom control
• Crisis care nursing
• Personal care (bathing, etc.)
• Emotional and spiritual support
• Help with prescription drug costs
• Oxygen, durable medical equipment and supplies
• Nurses and physicians on-call for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• In-patient hospice care when needed
• Caregiver training & support for family
• Emotional support for patients & caregivers
• Help finding financial, legal, and social services
• Spiritual support when requested
• Dietary guidance
• Physical, occupational, speech therapy if needed
• Volunteer companionship for patient & caregivers
• Bereavement support
