Liza’s Place, Valley Hospice Care Center South and Mary Jane Brooks Valley Hospice Care Center North are the Ohio Valley’s only state-of-the-art hospice facilities providing in-patient, residential and respite care to Valley Hospice patients who are unable to stay in their own home.

Valley Hospice’s Care Centers look and feel like home. Each private room includes comfortable furnishings, accommodations for family members who wish to spend the night, cable television, a telephone and complete access to our kitchen area, living room, spa and other amenities.

Our Care Centers are a welcoming and inviting place in the community for patients who need 24-hour care. This care is provided by specially trained hospice professionals including, physicians, RN’s, LPN’s, Hospice Aides, Social Workers, Chaplains and Volunteers.  These specialists address concerns and provide individualized care allowing the family members to focus on the role of being a family member.

General Inpatient Care • When you need an alternative to the hospital

Sometimes patients need to come to the Care Center for General Inpatient Care. The Care Centers are available as an alternative to the hospital when symptoms become too complex to manage within the home or nursing facility.

Residential Care • When you need a “home away from home”

Short-term Residential Care at the Care Centers can be an alternative for Valley Hospice patients with a caregiver who is unable to provide care or for patients living alone with no primary caregiver. Patients choosing Residential Care pay a standard daily room and board charge. This covers 24-hour nursing care and all amenities.
